A Day to Give Thanks

Their Boy

Nine cats on the step
Waiting for the boy
Who brings them food each morning--
Their tails go up in joy!

Morning Silence
A cup of tea and a warm hearth all wrapped up with a silent house,
early mornings are precious because they are so fleeting.
As soon as the family begins to rise the quiet is shattered,
rent for the day.
Silence will not return until the night has fallen heavily upon us.

Now it is gone.

And now
it is Thanksgiving Day. We are going over the river and through the woods to Grandmother's house. However, we are going in our white Toyota, but the neighbors will no doubt be going out with the horses. But no sleigh. Living in Amish country is so poetic.

Last night in church we sang:

Earth and all stars! Loud rushing planets! Sing to the Lord a new song!
Oh, victory! Loud shouting army! Sing to the Lord a new song!

He has done marvelous things.
I too will praise him with a new song!
---Herbert F. Brokering

I, too, choose to praise Him with songs of Thanksgiving. Will you join me?
