I'm from the WTM board and have always enjoyed your posts and am now an occasional reader of your blog. I saw your request to readers to post where we are from.
Your life seems so idealic, to me. I know, the grass is always greener... Valerie in IL (Chicago suburbs)
I do know that there are lots of people who could not fathom living WAY OUT HERE in the middle of no-where. However, there are many who would do so if they could. I had a friend tell me that when she and her sister took a walk in the country when visiting relatives they just laughed at how empty the roads were and how little there was to do! Another person looked at the map I gave her with directions to get to my house and said, "You go all the way out to that itty-bitty town and then go FURTHER?!!" She loved city life and would never dream of being jailed up where the only thing to see was cattle and corn! It is all one's perspective, I guess. Farming is hard work with not a lot of pay, but we like it here :-)
I saw the crescent moon last night. I love to catch it the first few days of the new lunar month.
And thank you for your kind comment on my blog. I've always enjoyed reading yours. It is peaceful. And my sister lives in Wisconsin and loves it there.
I am both the wife of an engineer-turned-farmer in the beautiful hills of Wisconsin and the homeschooling mom of 3 teenagers. We raise Simmental cattle and grow corn, and soybeans. We also raise chickens and turkeys for our own use and have laying hens. We are giving our children a Christian classical education,
and this is our 13th year of homeschooling. The night sky is my hobby. I sew, knit, bake bread, cook from scratch, grind wheat, garden, make soap and so much more! Also, I should not forget to tell you that we all love cats! Welcome!
