Hello, Jean: I saw your great family photo yesterday, but I must admit that I wondered where the kitties were! I enjoy reading your blog. Thanks for sharing your poems, pictures, and your homeschooling/farm days! Merry Christmas! *Laurie (in SEA)
I'm sure I posted an answer to this. Tomorrow it will probably show up and I'll have two. LOL!
Our farm kitties sleep together to stay warm in the winter in the hay, in a window well, and in the dogloo. They also have always been together and many have litter mates. They like to pile on top of each other to sleep. When they come in to warm their toes, their favorite spot is on a rug--and if they have to sit on it with several others, they are willing to do so.
I am both the wife of an engineer-turned-farmer in the beautiful hills of Wisconsin and the homeschooling mom of 3 teenagers. We raise Simmental cattle and grow corn, and soybeans. We also raise chickens and turkeys for our own use and have laying hens. We are giving our children a Christian classical education,
and this is our 13th year of homeschooling. The night sky is my hobby. I sew, knit, bake bread, cook from scratch, grind wheat, garden, make soap and so much more! Also, I should not forget to tell you that we all love cats! Welcome!

I have four kitties and they'd never share a rug like that! How do you do it? Is there something about farm life that makes them more pack-like?

My inside cats don't do this!
