The boy's sawed down the trees and cleaned them off with their axes, cut the logs to size, notched them (trial error), and stacked them. They are making plans for splitting shingles for the roof and building a door. I suppose they have just read enough books over the years that 5 teenaged boys were able to put their heads together and build this.
that is a very neat little cabin! i am so impressed.
i love all the pictures on your blog. thanks for visiting mine and for leaving the comment about the telescope. i will check into that and may have more questions for you about that later.
I am both the wife of an engineer-turned-farmer in the beautiful hills of Wisconsin and the homeschooling mom of 3 teenagers. We raise Simmental cattle and grow corn, and soybeans. We also raise chickens and turkeys for our own use and have laying hens. We are giving our children a Christian classical education,
and this is our 13th year of homeschooling. The night sky is my hobby. I sew, knit, bake bread, cook from scratch, grind wheat, garden, make soap and so much more! Also, I should not forget to tell you that we all love cats! Welcome!

That is WONDERFUL!! Please tell more about it! Are they chopping those trees down themselves? How did they learn how to do this?
