My cousin's boys came to camp with my boys over night in the woods last week. While they were here, they evened out a spot on the hill for a fort and then sawed down some trees. They notched the logs and began building. Impressive, isn't it?
About 6 years ago, our Luke, Joseph, and Emily built a fort similar to yours, complete with roof, door, and windows. They had the best time!
After they built it, Gus the calf and Razelle the goat decided they would inhabit it. Such a sight to see that Charolais and that Angora laying down with their heads sticking out the door! Janie
They did a mighty fine job, Jean! I love that they even thought to make the door (I'd have made it up a good two feet before that dawned on me. LOL.) I'm impressed, and really hope they'll continue with the project - and that you'll post pictures. I showed it to Zorak and his first statement was, "Wow! That's great. Are there more pictures?"
I am both the wife of an engineer-turned-farmer in the beautiful hills of Wisconsin and the homeschooling mom of 3 teenagers. We raise Simmental cattle and grow corn, and soybeans. We also raise chickens and turkeys for our own use and have laying hens. We are giving our children a Christian classical education,
and this is our 13th year of homeschooling. The night sky is my hobby. I sew, knit, bake bread, cook from scratch, grind wheat, garden, make soap and so much more! Also, I should not forget to tell you that we all love cats! Welcome!
