The Results Are In!

My daughter has been attending the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado, this weekend. She traveled there to compete in the national meats competition. They needed to be able to identify 130 meat cuts (beef, pork and lamb) and to rank several cuts of meat and carcasses of the same animals, giving reasons to a judge for the order that they placed them—with no notes in front of them.

Last year our county’s meats time won Wisconsin’s 4-H competition, which opened the opportunity for them to represent our state in Denver. Out of the twelve teams participating, Wisconsin’s team came in 4th. Out of the 48 individuals who were there, Bethany came in 10th.

Congratulations, team! We are proud of your hard work!

Please keep them in your prayers as they head home tomorrow. They plan to leave at 5:00 a.m. and arrive here around 11:00 p.m. My concerns are for the weather and for the drivers—they have two cars and have only two drivers. I’d rather they make that long drive in two days! I’ll be grateful when they get back home safely.
