Snowflakes

Snowflakes out my window,
Snowflake on my lap.
One is cold and icy, while
The other takes a nap.

Outside the wind is blowing;
The branches bounce and sway.
The snowflakes dance and tumble
Like children out to play.

But here upon my blanket
Is Snowflake soft and warm;
He’s purring and contented,
Oblivious of the storm.

Very nice poem Jean!
Snow is a still very light here in Verona...
Hope the big kids get home before we have inches and inches...

Sounds like Jean is pretty contented, too!

We have light snow right now, but my cat is anything but content. We're currently trying to get him off the "feed me on demand" mentality, and it's rough going!

Maybe this year it will snow at our house. I just bought a book of poetry for my eight-year-old dd, and she was so disappointed..."Mama, all the January poems are about snow." Hmph! It usually snows a dusting here every year, but not last year. We are hoping for a bit this year.

Your Snowflake and our Lilly are the spitting image of each other. I just posted a couple of pictures of her on my blog. Come take a look if you have the time. We are having quite a bit of snow here in NY too. It is beautiful!
