I had a number of wonderful posts this week. I talked to Donna (the more experienced blogger who can answer most of my questions :-), and she said she frequently answered comments at the end of the day. I think I will try that.
Janie, you commented that you seem to only be able to post anonymously. I think that means that you do not have a blog with Blogspot and so they cannot link you to “your” blog. You are welcome to visit my little world anonymously just as often as you like!
I’d like to welcome those of you who posted for the 1st time. I always enjoy hearing from you! I’m glad you’ve stopped by to visit, Beth. Sandy, I’m glad you were able to lose a little this week. It is always nice to see the scales going the right way. After tonight’s party, I will need to take it all off again—how was I suppose to ignore the food my daughter put out for her Super Bowl fun? Lots of homemade goodies!

Bob and Carmen, that is an Amish buggy in the photo. Several of our neighbors are Amish. I do not make a habit of snapping photos of them because of their beliefs on that subject, but I didn’t think they would be concerned about this one. It is such a wonderful photo, isn’t it? I don’t know of many stores in Madison with used books, but Madison is a big city and I do not know it well. There could be a whole lot more there than I think.

I received an email from someone at Blogspot. He said that they are aware that people using Mozilla Firefox are having problems with html poppy seeds. They are working on it. Apparently I am not the only one. If I post with Internet Explorer there are no poppy seeds. How goofy!

Last night I went to another astronomy meeting. I enjoy time with those folks. They are always making me aware of how much there is to know that I have yet to learn. I comprehend what they are teaching, but I would be hard pressed to teach it to someone else. Fun!
Today Grandma and Grandpa took the whole family out to eat at a Chinese restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. Tonight my daughter invited them all back to enjoy Andes Mint cookies, almond bark cookies, chips, dips and lots of wonderfully good things. Some of them watched the game, but most of us played card games. I suppose I will need to spend the week regaining the ground I had taken during last week’s diet—I always find maintaining my weight to be the biggest job when it comes to dieting!
I think I need to be off to bed very soon. I’m weary, and tomorrow begins another school week. We might be getting snow tonight—I’ve heard we could get 3” or even up to 7”. It is so muddy and the stream below the house has over flowed its bank; its loud rushing waters can be heard when we step outside on our deck. I hope no mother cow decides to give birth too close to that creek tonight.

Thoughts from My Big Green Chair
Psalm 70:5 “Yet I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God.”
There are times that I am aware of how alone I am in this world. Those “props” that keep us going and make us feel content can be pulled out from under us so unexpectantly, and we are left with the realization that this is God’s world and not ours. All that we ultimately have is Him.

A picture of the "draw"--a valley that runs between two fields that is filled with deep brush and ends in woods. I've looked for this term in my dictionary. Am I spelling it wrong? Just what does it refer to?

Thanks, Jean. Maybe one day I'll venture into this blogging world as more than a reader when I finally work through my to-do list. I really enjoy your PsalmThoughts. You know, there is a difference sometimes in reading batch of verses together, like seeing a field of wildflowers, and then plucking one out, like pulling a single flower for the table flower vase. The particulars of that single verse can be glorious. So I do enjoy and find your single-stemmed flowers poignant!
Keep up the kitty pictures! I send them on to my sister. We both have and love cats.
Happy day today!
Janie
Greetings Jean, Yeah! A "new" word. We have opened dictionaries also, but we came up empty. ( Maybe it's here......eBay: A Draw>Great deals on hard to find items.) Sometimes we find ourselves wishing for a computer a person could talk to instead of settling for Google
Could it be a regional word? "How we talk: American Regional English Today" written by Allan Metcalf is an enjoyable book. According to the book in both Wisconsin and Minnesota, 'ish' is an expression of disgust, and something 'ishy' is something disgusting. In Wisconsin, as well as in Indiana and a few other places, the light that controls traffic is sometimes called a'stop and go light'. (Sorry to say that the word 'draw' was nowhere to be found.)
It's a pretty photo...........and it captures the feeling of a coming snowfall!

"All that we ultimately have is Him." Somedays this is deeply comforting; other days it is troubling. BUT, the truth is -- this is a relief, isn't it? He is so constant, and so complete.
I am glad you had a good visit with Donna, and thanks for giving her the "have to be satisfied with a" cyber hug.
Stay warm -- that picture looks c-h-i-l-l-y.
Diane
