Now, I’m going to post this picture one more time. Today Bethany came to look at my blog off and on all day long to see if anyone commented on the photo of her standing in the muck with her precious calf, and she did not get a single comment. Today is the day to come out of lurkdom and fill her little comment page. O.K.? :-)

Last year Bethany's cow, Kiss Me, died, leaving a
newborn calf. Yesterday I snapped this picture of Beth
hugging Kiss Me, Too during chore time. Posted by Hello

Looks like your daughter is doing a great job with her calf! How lucky for Kiss Me Too to have such a devoted caregiver.
I enjoy visiting your blog and reading your thoughts, so often they reflect my own, not so gathered thoughts.

What a sweet picture! I love animals and this cow is just precious. We go to the Cutting Horse competitions each year to see the cows as well as the horses! I had a cow when I was a little girl. :)

Looks like this calf has a lot of love, Bethany!

Sorry I didn't get to comment yesterday.

I looked very hard at the picture yesterday and tried to compare momma and baby in my memory. I hesitated to state my conclusions, because my memories might be in- accurate. But she looks good, she looks content, she looks loved. I wish her a long healthy, productive life. Lynn

I know what it's like to lose a pet, Bethany. Kiss Me Too is adorable. I am envious of you being able to wrap your arms around such a precious animal.

It's a wonderful life -- I know this when I see you hugging your calf! Looks like she's growing up just fine -- look at that shiny coat. Take care of yourself and your calf. We are all proud of you. (My dd is 3, and I hope she grows up to be like you.)

Hugs, Sandy

Hi Bethany,

I'm sorry I wasn't around the past few days or I definitely would have commented before now.

Looks like KM2 is a lucky, well-cared-for calf. Right about now, I'd trade ya for a stubborn Basset Hound.... ;-)

Bethany, I like your cow! I really like cows. They are my favorite animal.
I have a brother named Jacob, too, and if my little brother had been a girl, he would have the name Bethany!

Bethany,
Enjoy these days! You will remember them all of you life. I remember with fondness the warm smell of the cows mingled with the sweet smell of hay and feed. And the rough fatness of the cow's tongue on my hand. Daily barn chores in the winter task a body, but yours is young, lean, and hardy. Make the most of your days with the animals. Give Kiss Me Too some brush strokes for me. I love the pictures for the cows and the kitties!
I'm really impressed by your 4-H activities. Congratulations on your recent achievements! These will all serve you well throughout your life. Good job! :)

Woooow!!!!

Thank you!!!

Mom did not tell me she was posting the picture again, so it was a surprise. You are all very nice! I will tell Kiss Me Too, but I think she will tell me to just feed her.
